AI（Artificial Intelligence／人工知能）について、先日からラスヴェガスの知人とセカンドライフ（三次元仮想現実世界）で話し合いを持った。

　セカンドライフ「熊本ジャパン」のラジオ局に座り、PODCASTLIFEを見ながら二つのAI BOTを実験してみる事にした。

　一つは「ELIZA（1966年にジョセフ・ワイゼンバウムが開発した有名なプログラム）」、そしてそれよりレベルの高い「Chatty Mist」をバーチャル空間にあるテーブルに置き、相手に対する質問、単なる独り言、そして命令を同じパターンで実験したのだが、流石に「Chatty Mist」の方がレスポンスも良く会話になっている。

　以下は、その実験でチャット枠に書き込んだシンプルな英文である。双方の受け答えが全く異なり、「ELIZA」の場合は全く質問を理解せず、鸚鵡（オウム）返しにフレーズが出てくるようだ。

　以上を見ると、「Chatty Mist」は筆者からのメッセージを理解して、それに応じて返事をしている。

　このように、三次元仮想現実世界セカンドライフにも存在するAIのBOTだが、近い将来において自分の秘書が数人存在し、あなたの仕事のサポートをしている可能性は高い。
